There is an AC unit in the master bedroom in each villa. Other bedrooms are equipped with a fan. The Studio is designed to be passively cooled. We find the guests appreciate the fresh air. We can usually provide an extra fan if required.

Yes! All bedding and towels are provided. Our sheets are high-quality, high thread-count linen.

It depends on whether we have another booking that day. If not, we can usually extend the checkout time at no charge.

We usually offer discounts for long-stays. If you want to stay a week or more, contact us. There are also special rates for stays of six months or a year.

Yes. You will need to provide $200 or Rp2,000,000 in cash, as a security deposit when you check in. Guests cannot check in without this. Please arrange in advance. This deposit will be refunded when you check out, less the value of any meals, drinks, snacks or breakages.

You will also need cash to pay the driver if you are being picked up at the airport/harbour.

You can also use a credit card at the Studio to pay for meals etc. or to extend your stay. We accept Visa or Mastercard.

ATMs and Money Changers are available in Senggigi.

Cancellations or amendments to bookings must be notified by email. The following cancellation charges will be payable depending on when the cancellation is received:

More than 7 days before arrival date: Deposit returned (less administration costs).

Within 7 days of arrival date (or no show): Deposit is forfeited.

You can get to Lombok by plane or by boat from Bali.

Daily flights are scheduled from Bali, Jakarta, and Surabaya. The flight from Bali takes about 30 minutes. There are also direct flights from Singapore, Australia, and Makassar.

Fast-boats run every day from Padang Bay in Bali. The trip takes one and a half to two hours, depending on how many stops (boats often go by Lembongan and Gili Trawangan). You can book through Feel Lombok, our Lombok based tour and travel company partner . Please advise us of the name of the boat/company and harbor in Lombok if you require transport (see below).

The cost of a ticket for the plane or boat from Bali is similar.

The local ferry runs every few hours from Padang Bai in Bali to Lembar in Lombok. This is a cheaper but slower alternative. The trip takes approximately five hours. You can also book a ticket from Bali to Senggigi in Lombok, which includes land transport by minibus and a slow ferry ticket.

We can provide transport to the Studio from the airport or the harbor, for a fee.

We use a local transport service that we have found to be reliable. The driver will meet with you with a sign displaying your family name. It takes about an hour to get to the Studio from the airport and about forty minutes from the harbor.

Please advise us in your booking if you require transport. The cars can take four adults plus baggage. Payment should be made direct to the driver: Rp400,000 for airport transfer. Rp350,000 for harbor transfer.

Note: if you are coming by fastboat from Bali or the Gilis, you need to advise us of the name of the boat/company, the arrival time and the harbour at which you will arrive in Lombok (Pecinan, Mentigi, Teluk Nare, Teluk Kodek, Bangsal, Senggigi, etc.)

The easiest way to get to the beach or Senggigi is by taxi. The service is reliable, it takes about five minutes, and the fare is about Rp25,000 ($2). The Studio is located on a hill. It is a pleasant 40-minute walk.

Yes! We can arrange a car and driver. For local use during the day (to Senggigi and local areas), the cost is currently Rp500,000 per day. Please check if you require.

Yes! We can arrange private tours, with a car and driver provided by our friends at Feel Lombok. The most popular are day trips to South Lombok or to the West and North Lombok. Stunning beaches, waterfalls, traditional villages, craft centers, mountain views….

We don’t run a travel/tour agency – but we can put you in touch with reliable and trustworthy companies who can arrange many activities.

Yes! We can arrange for a professional massage, manicure, and/or pedicure in the barugaq pavilion at the Studio. All at very reasonable cost!

There are several ways to get the Gili Islands, depending on your needs. Allow one-two hours depending on which way you go. It is possible to do a day-trip from Senggigi.

Sorry, no. We only accept advance-paid bookings. Please use the book-and-pay facility on this website to confirm your booking.

Yes! All villas are equipped with a fridge. We provide snacks and basic drinks (beer and softdrinks) at cost. Local wine is available by order. Local coffee, tea and sugar are provided free of charge in your villa. Drinking water is also available free of charge.

Yes! We can provide delicious, wholesome Indonesian-style meals, cooked in our kitchen. Meals must be pre-ordered. We cater for groups, not a-la-carte. So you can order either fish or chicken as a main dish for your group, served with seasonal vegetables and fresh fruit.

If you would like a meal ready for when you arrive, please let us know at time of booking so we can send you our menu. 

You can also order a-la-carte from Asmara Restaurant. Meals will be delivered to your villa. (Note that this service is occasionally not available when the restaurant is busy.)

Your villa has a well-equipped kitchen, so you can prepare your own meals if you prefer.

We can also provide barbecues with advance notice. Your meal cooked in the open over a wood fire!

And, of course, breakfasts are free! Our staff will come to your villa and cook delicious breakfasts for you each morning: local bread, fresh local coffee or tea, fresh fruit juice, eggs to your taste, and home-made jams.

Yes! While we don’t prepare special meals for vegetarians, all of our meals can be adapted. We use delicious fresh vegetables and fruit in-season, where possibly locally grown. Fresh coconut drinks are prepared from fruit grown on-site.

All our food is halal (no pork).

If you have other dietary requirements, we will try to accommodate them.

At this stage, the Studio does not have wheel-chair access. There are many steps, especially for Studio Two. However, if you can handle two or three 20cm-high steps, Studio One and Villa Laras will be fine (assuming you stay in a downstairs bedroom in Villa Laras).

While we have not designed the Studios for disabled persons, door handles are easy-to-handle levers. Taps are standard twist varieties and mildly-disabled guests should be fine.

We love having children as guests. We are teachers and we brought up our own children at the Studio. We also encourage children to be adventurous. There are hills to roll down, trees to climb, a swimming pool, a trampoline, and plenty of room to run around in. We can also set up badminton and boule. For indoor time we have books and some games and puzzles you can borrow.

But … the Studio is not designed to current western safety standards. The pool is not fenced, for example. Parents need to take responsibility for children at all times. We do provide a first aid kit and there is a medical service in Senggigi, but we accept no liability for accidents.

Yes. Smoking is fine on the veranda/terrace of each villa. No smoking indoors please.

The Studio offers a completely different kind of holiday than you will get in a hotel. It is usually much more affordable for groups and families, and the experience is much more personal and private.
